Brunch is basically a sport in London, and I like to think I’m something of an expert at it!
There’s just nothing better than long, lazy weekend mornings spent over coffee, pancakes, and cocktails with friends.
London is spoiled for choice when it comes to breakfast and brunch spots, with everything from grand, old-school cafés to Aussie-inspired neighbourhood favourites (which I’m definitely biased towards after spending four years living in Australia).
Here are my personal favourite breakfast and brunch places in London, the ones I keep going back to again and again.
So, ready to find out which London restaurants offer the best breakfast?! Let’s go!
1. Christopher’s, Covent Garden
Christopher’s is an American-style brunch spot with plenty of flair, and the setting is just gorgeous – it just feels really special.
The menu leans indulgent, with some of the best French toast and pancakes you’ll find in the city. Also, don’t miss their Nutella Martinis!!!
If you’re in the mood for a classic American breakfast with a little extra glamour, this is where to book.
2. Berners Tavern, Fitzrovia
If you want a truly glamorous breakfast setting, Berners Tavern inside The London EDITION hotel is unbeatable.
The dining room is jaw-droppingly beautiful, with soaring ceilings and walls covered floor-to-ceiling in gilded picture frames.
It feels decadent and a little theatrical, which is exactly what you want for a special occasion brunch.
The menu is modern British with a refined twist — think avocado and poached eggs on sourdough, smoked salmon bagels, and the fluffiest pancakes.
Pair it with a mimosa or two, and you’ve got one of the chicest breakfasts in London.
3. Caravan, Fitzrovia
Caravan is one of those places I find myself coming back to over and over again.
It’s effortlessly cool without trying too hard, with industrial-chic interiors and a buzzy, relaxed atmosphere.
Known for their excellent coffee (they roast their own beans), Caravan’s menu is globally inspired and perfect for adventurous brunch lovers.
You’ll find everything from jalapeño cornbread and baked eggs to classics like smashed avo and bacon sarnies.
It’s lively, stylish, and the kind of place where breakfast turns into lunch because you don’t want to leave.
4. Granger & Co, Multiple Locations
There’s always a queue outside Granger & Co, but I promise it’s worth the wait. Their ricotta hotcakes are the stuff of London legend – cloud-like, subtly sweet, and topped with honeycomb butter.
But my personal favourite? The sweetcorn fritters, which come stacked with avocado, roasted tomatoes, and bacon.
It’s fresh, hearty, and exactly what brunch should be.
5. Sunday in Brooklyn, Marylebone
Straight from New York to London, Sunday in Brooklyn has made waves here — and with good reason.
Their giant pancakes really do live up to the hype: thick, fluffy, and dripping in hazelnut maple praline.
They’re so indulgent you’ll want to cancel lunch plans.
If you’re after something lighter, their avocado on toast is perfection.
6. The Delaunay, Aldwych
For a touch of old-school glamour, The Delaunay is hard to beat.
Inspired by the grand Viennese cafés, it’s all dark wood, elegant banquettes, and impeccable service.
The menu is classic and sophisticated – think smoked salmon bagels, eggs any way you like, and buttery pastries.
7. Nessa, Soho
Nessa is probably one of the most underrated breakfast spots in London, and I honestly don’t know why it isn’t busier.
It’s dog-friendly, laid-back, and literally every single dish I’ve ever had there has been amazing.
The French toast is life-changing – perfectly crisp on the outside, custardy in the middle, and topped with seasonal fruit.
Nessa has that effortlessly cool Soho vibe, without any of the pretension.
8. The Wolseley, Mayfair
The Wolseley is a London institution. Walking into its art deco dining room feels like stepping into another era, with soaring ceilings, white tablecloths, and silver service.
The menu is simple but beautifully done, with fresh pastries, eggs Florentine, or a full English if you’re feeling indulgent.
It’s elegant, timeless, and very European in feel, perfect if you want to start your day with a little glamour.
9. Larry’s, Trafalgar Square
Larry’s is one of those little gems you’d never expect to find right in the middle of Trafalgar Square.
It’s cosy and stylish, with a menu that brings a bit of the Australian brekky scene into central London. I call it my secret brunch spot because no one ever seems to have heard of it.
It’s ideal for a pre-sightseeing breakfast – grab a strong coffee, something fresh and filling, and you’re good to go.
10. Milk Beach, Soho
An Australian-inspired café tucked into the heart of Soho, Milk Beach is everything you’d expect from Aussie brunch culture.
It’s laid-back, fresh, and focused on quality.
The Parmagiana is delicious, but if you want something lighter, the avocado toast is generous and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere is always relaxed.
It’s the kind of place you’ll want to linger over flat whites and people-watch. I took two Australian friends here in the summer and they loved it!
11. Brickwood, Clapham
Down in Clapham, Brickwood has become a local favourite.
Another Aussie-inspired spot (can you tell I love an Australian breakfast?), it’s got that neighbourhood café feel.
It’s casual, friendly, and always buzzing.
The coffee is brilliant, the plates are hearty, and the vibe is unfussy. If you’re south of the river, it’s one of the best brunch options around.
12. The Standard, King’s Cross
The Standard is one of those places that just feels like an occasion. Trendy interiors, a buzzy atmosphere, and a menu that’s as creative as it is delicious.
It’s the perfect spot for a girls’ brunch. Order a round of cocktails (yes, mimosas before noon are encouraged), share a few plates, and settle in for a leisurely morning.
If you’re after somewhere fun, stylish, and a little different, this is it.
13. The Breakfast Club, Multiple Locations
You can’t talk about brunch in London without mentioning The Breakfast Club.
It’s quirky, colourful, and full of personality, with a menu that’s as playful as the decor.
The pancakes are thick and fluffy, the fry-ups are legendary, and the queues out the door prove just how loved it is.
Whether you’re in Soho, Shoreditch, or beyond, it’s always a reliable and fun choice.
14. Dishoom, Multiple Locations
No list of the best breakfasts in London would be complete without Dishoom.
Their Bacon Naan Roll has achieved cult status for good reason…smoky streaky bacon wrapped in freshly baked naan with a dash of chilli jam.
It’s indulgent yet somehow not too heavy, and it’s the perfect cure if you’ve had one too many cocktails the night before.
Dishoom’s chai is bottomless and endlessly warming, and the Bombay-inspired menu makes it one of the most unique breakfast spots in the city.
15. Megan’s, Multiple Locations
Megan’s is one of those neighbourhood spots that feels instantly welcoming. It’s all fairy lights, rustic wooden tables, and a relaxed, Mediterranean vibe.
Their Chelsea outpost is my favourite, tucked among the pretty streets and perfect for a lazy weekend brunch.
The menu has a bit of everything, from shakshuka and Turkish-inspired brunch dishes to indulgent stacks of pancakes and pastries.
It’s casual but Instagrammable, with a warm, friendly atmosphere and great, reliable food.
One of the Best Brunch Scenes in the World
London’s brunch scene is endlessly exciting, and it’s one of my favourite things about living here.
Whether you’re after glamour and silver service, an Aussie-inspired flat white and avo toast, or a stack of pancakes bigger than your head, the city has it all.
These are the places I find myself recommending time and time again, and the ones I’ll happily queue for ready for another round of ricotta hotcakes or French toast.
