November 2012 after a lot of umming and aahing, I plucked up the courage to write about my struggle with eye eczema. Since I was a child I’ve suffered from eczema on my legs, wrists, and eyes, and in November it got so bad that nothing was working. Prescribed creams did nothing but thin the skin on my eyes and eventually discolour them, and the eczema on my eyes was so severe I would wake up with them swollen shut. They were so dry that flakes of skin would fall onto my lashes and face (gross, eh), and my self-confidence plummeted.
Then I discovered a few miracle products that have completely changed my life, skincare routine, and makeup routine. These are the products that don’t irritate my skin, instead they do their job, with some of them also soothing and repairing my skin. All of them are natural and organic, and almost all of them are readily available and don’t break the bank!
I replaced many of my chemical-filled skincare and makeup products with natural alternatives, and although I still use ‘normal’ makeup every so often, my every day makeup is natural. I now have a specialist website dedicated to eczema-safe products, The Eczema Store. However, I wanted to include a small round-up on a few of my favourites on here!
Dr Organics Manuka Honey Rescue Cream
This is my favourite product ever. You can’t cure eczema, so every so often it comes back, and when it does, I put a thick layer of this cream on twice a day (morning and night), let it soak in, and within a few days it’s completely cleared up. This cream also soothes the skin and feels lovely and cooling, and it smells lovely too. If you’re in the UK and US you can purchase from Amazon, but if you’re in Australia you can get it from Australian Organic Products Online. You can see my full review of the product here.

Moogoo MSM Soothing Cream
Moogoo MSM Soothing Cream is the perfect daily moisturiser if you have eczema. Unlike other face moisturisers this one doesn’t irritate my skin and flare up my eczema, but instead calms it and soothes while moisturising the rest of my face. It smells lovely and milky and natural, and is again completely natural with no nasties. It’s an Australian product however you can buy it online from Amazon. You can see my full review of the Moogoo MSM Cream here.

Dr Bronner’s Sugar Pump Soap
I absolutely love Dr Bronner’s organic products, but the sugar pump soap is my favourite as it’s super kind on sensitive skin and can be used all over the body. Dr Bronner’s sugar pump soap can also be used on your face, but personally I would only use their baby unscented version on the face to prevent any risk of irritation.

Balmonds Omega Rich Cleansing Oil
I’ve really struggled so much over the years to find a cleanser that removes make-up effortlessly without me having to rub my eyes loads to shift my waterproof mascara. Finally I discovered the Balmonds Omega Rich Cleansing Oil in 2019, and haven’t looked back. It’s a 100% natural face cleanser made with a luxurious combination of rich and effective natural oils for daily use to condition, cleanse and moisturise the face.

Giovanni Hydrating-Clarifying Shampoo
The Giovanni Hydrating-Clarifying Shampoo is a vegan and organic shampoo specially formulated for dry and damaged hair, and was actually the very first organic shampoo I tested out back in 2013. I still use it as I like to switch between shampoos so my hair doesn’t ‘get used to’ just one, but the Giovanni shampoo really is perfect for those with sensitive skin and sufferers of eczema on the scalp and face. It’s free from silicones, parabens, and sulphates, and is gentle enough that you can use it every day. It’s a highly moisturising shampoo that’s been created to hydrate the hair, smooth frizz, and soothe over-processed, environmentally stressed hair.

Inika Cosmetics Eyeshadows
When I first posted about my issues with eczema, Inika very kindly sent me some mineral eyeshadows to try out. All Inika products are completely natural, and I fell in love with these shadows! The colours are gorgeous, they’re really highly pigmented, very buildable, and you can achieve different looks and colours by using them dry or wet. They’re quite pricey, but I think they’re well worth it and I’ve since bought more colours. You can see more here.

Lavera Foundation
The Lavera Natural Liquid Foundation is my favourite liquid natural foundations. I’ve tried loads over the years and found many don’t suit my skin type, but the Lavera one is brilliant as long as you use a buffing brush to buff it into the skin. Its formula contains organic ingredients including organic argan oil and organic blossom liposomes, which protects the skin.
Nuud Deodorant
You can see my full review of Nuud Deodorant here, but it’s incredible! It contains micro-silver which neutralises the bacteria under your armpits, and doesn’t contain any aluminium, parabens, petrochemicals, alcohol, salts, cheap perfume, or other nasty chemicals that can damage your body. I was worried when I first started using Nuud because of the very mixed reviews, but I honestly love Nuud and haven’t used anything else for over a year now. It works really well for me and is perfect for my sensitive skin and eczema-prone skin. I’m never using another deodorant ever again!
