Bondi Icebergs Dining Room, Sydney.

The Bondi Icebergs Restaurant undoubtedly has one of the best views in Sydney. Overlooking Bondi Beach, the stunning dining room is perched above the Bondi Icebergs, Sydney’s iconic ocean swimming pool. It was a Friday evening and I was exhausted from our trip to Melbourne the weekend before, and a busy week at work.

It was Sid’s last evening in Sydney, so we decided to go to Icebergs and see what all the fuss was about! Usually it’s booked up weeks in advance, but a quick call to the Amex Platinum Concierge and we had a table.

So, ready for my full review of Bondi Icebergs Restaurant? Read on…

Bondi Icebergs Sydney

I arrived at the Bondi Icebergs restaurant a little early, but chose to go straight to the table and start with a glass of champagne. It’s funny, but since being in Sydney I’ve visited so many awesome restaurants, but only taken my camera a few times.
I usually only take my camera with me when I’m going for dinner with someone who I know is comfortable with me photographing everything. And as we’ve been friends for over five years now, I know Sid is OK with it. I was going to the restaurant straight from work though, so I only had my little camera rather than the big DSLR, so please excuse the photos as the restaurant got quite dark!

Anyway, throughout the evening at Bondi Iceberges restaurant the staff were incredible. Very attentive but not too pushy. We decided to just have two courses, especially after our decadent week the week before with our meals at MoVida, Rockpool and Tetsuya’s.

After munching on the delicious fresh crusty bread, my swordfish arrived. I wanted something reasonably healthy, and the fresh grilled swordfish with asparagus ($46) was perfect! We also got creamy mashed potato as a side.

Sid chose the lamb and he loved it. It did look amazing, and usually I’d have major food envy, but my swordfish was too good to be envious of anything else!

I can’t for the life of me remember what dessert Sid chose, but it looked really rather strange! He said it was tasty though so that’s the main thing!
I just went for a trio of gelato ($18). You could choose from a variety of interesting flavours, so I opted for apple pie, coconut, and mango.
The food at Bondi Icebergs restaurant was exceptionally good, the view to die for, and the service outstanding. I can definitely see why it has two hats, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Sydney. Just make sure you book in advance!

Cathrine, this is so so timely. I was working on my Australia itinerary today! We are still in the flight/hotel booking stage, but I'm bookmarking this for sure as I start booking restaurants. The view alone makes it worth the visit! xoxo, nano

Gah! I didn't prebook Icebergs (not like me lol!) and we couldn't get in! Good to live vicariously through your gorgeous pictures.
