When I lived in Sydney I was really fortunate to explore the plethora of incredible rooftop bars in the city, and to be there when Mat Moran opened Barangaroo House, Sydney’s iconic contemporary dining and drinking destination. Barangaroo is home to a huge amount of waterside bars and restaurants, but there aren’t a huge amount of rooftop ones, so I thought I would round-up the top rooftop bars in barangaroo.

Without further ado, the top rooftop bars barangaroo are…

Smoke Bar, Barangaroo House

Smoke rooftop bar is the harbourside rooftop bar at the top of Mat Moran’s Barangaroo House. They modelled their stunning rooftop terrace space off bars in New York and LA, so you can expect luxury interiors, fine textures, low lighting, and incredible views over the water. On the impressive menu is more than fifty cocktails combining classics and signatures – including the refreshing mango mule – a 400-bin wine menu and inventive food dishes like a spiced mushroom toasties (toasted sandwich).

A short walk from Barangaroo House, you’ll find another rooftop venue. Untied rooftop bar channels playful tropical vibes decked out with vibrant colours and greenery. From the menu you can sample a range of fresh, raw and BBQ dishes like crab steam buns, scallop toast and Jerk chicken burgers. Untied is perfect for big groups, catering for up to 260 people across a large indoor and outdoor area, and is home to one of Sydney’s best bottomless brunch events. Expect a menu of Southern-style dishes with unlimited cocktails and a soundtrack of soulful live performers.

Henry Deane at Hotel Palisade

Henry Deane is one of my favourite rooftop bars in the whole of Sydney. It’s a little bit further up from Barangaroo, but just a short walk. The modern and sophisticated cocktail lounge is perched on top of the fabulous boutique hotel, Hotel Palisade, and spread across two floors with uninterrupted Sydney views looking over to the harbour bridge. The main part of the the rooftop is an indoor lounge with large panoramic windows, but there’s also a smaller alfresco terrace to grab some sunshine. The menu includes small and large dishes made to share, ranging from oysters to pork belly, to a great selection of crafted signature cocktails and an extensive wine list as well as their famous frosé.
