Brunch at The Grounds of Alexandria, Sydney.

One of the cutest places in Sydney, the Grounds of Alexandria are Instagram-gold with their pretty gardens that make you feel as though you’re in the tranquil countryside rather than the middle of the city. Not to mention they serve ah-mazing brunch food and dreamy milkshakes! I’ve been a couple of times now and have to tell you all about it.

Now, it’s a bit of a pain to get to from certain suburbs because Sydney’s public transport is awful, but I promise it’s well worth it (and it’s really close to the CBD if you’re a tourist staying in the city). I mean, they have a gigantic pig called Kevin Bacon for crying out loud! And GOATS. And a lemonade stand. And the best ice-lollies ever. But anyway, let me show you…

Moving on to the food, The Cafe is gorgeous but you need to get there early as there’s usually a queue and about a half hour wait. I’ve had the Fluffy Buttermilk Pancakes with roasted peaches, ricotta, pecans and maple syrup (HEAVENLY, fyi), and the Brekkie Burger, and both were incredible. I also had the Red Velvet milkshake one time, and it was a taste sensation. Nikki had the Grounds Big Brekkie and LOVED it, and I have to admit I got massive food envy.

Before you leave, make sure you pick up a loaf of their homemade bread as it’s honestly delicious and the best bread I’ve had in Sydney. There are two other eateries there too; the Potting Shed, and The Garden. I haven’t eaten at those but they’re always packed with people and look really great too!

PIN FOR LATER: Visiting the Grounds of Alexandria is a must-do when you visit Sydney Australia! It's nestled in the middle of the city and is a haven for foodies and garden lovers. It's a beautiful place perfect for everyone, but make sure you go hungry!
