The Best Christmas Decorations at Grounds of Alexandria, Sydney.

The Grounds of Alexandria in Sydney is one of my favourite places in the city. It’s a unique, beautiful, and sprawling space just a short drive from the CBD, and makes you feel like you’re worlds away from a city. There’s a cafe, restaurant, bar, coffee roastery, bakery, florist, market and mini-farm all in one, so there really is something for everyone.

It was one of my favourite places to go for brunch on the weekends when I lived in Sydney, and I even took my parents there when they visited me in 2018, and they loved it too. I hadn’t been since then, so naturally I had to go on my most recent visit to Sydney.

On my last day in Sydney I popped down there for a late lunch, and omg they have upped their game with the decorations since the last time I was there!!! They usually update their decorations seasonally or depending on what big things are happening at the time, and this Christmas they went all out.

I mean, just look at them…

I was surprised how busy it was as it was a Wednesday afternoon, so I hate to think how busy it is on the weekends these days. There also seemed to be lots of tourists there, which there never used to be, so word must have finally got out!

After looking at all the decorations I went to the restaurant for lunch and chose the Grilled halloumi bowl with cauliflower, Job’s tears, chickpeas, chopped greens, cucumber, sesame pumpkin, almond herb pesto, hummus, tahini & pomegranate. It was DELICIOUS. It was unbelievably good and the perfect healthy meal after all of my iced chocolates during my two weeks in Australia.

Grounds of Alexandria has been a favourite since I first went in 2017, and my recent visit didn’t disappoint. It’s just as good now as it’s always been…there are just more people there these days.
