Cocktails at The Mandarin Oriental, Paris.

After our lunch at La Gare, Phoebe and I went to the Eiffel Tower before going for cocktails at the stunning Mandarin Oriental.

We were staying at Fraser Suites Le Claridge on the Champs Elysees, however the Mandarin Oriental very kindly gave us a tour of the hotel, which included a tour of the presidential suite! I’m such a nosy person (if you are too, take a look at my Luxury Room Tour Videos on Youtube), so it was a great opportunity to see a suite (the Presidential one, no less) which starts at 20,000 Euros per night!

The hotel is stunning. It’s so glamorous and feels very special. It would definitely be the perfect place to stay for a birthday or anniversary. The hotel is very feminine and has gorgeous little touches of pink and butterflies everywhere you go. There’s also artwork everywhere. It’s so beautiful.

The Presidential Suite was spectacular, spread over two levels it has a huge living room, a kitchen with a marble counter-top that’s lit from the inside, and a view of the Eiffel Tower from the bath.

Apparently the longest period of time anyone has ever spent there is one month. They do give special rates for those staying there for a long length of time though. The thing is though that even the smallest of rooms at the hotel are huge and contain a brilliant Japanese bathroom (which is a separate sink area and wet room with a bath).

After our tour we went to the outside bar area of Mandarin Oriental’s Bar 8 and had a cocktail each. It was like a little oasis amongst the sprawling and hectic Paris streets. Plush sofas and chairs nestled amongst the lush green trees and calming trickle of water features.

I chose a Dress Code Red, whilst Phoebe went for the J’aime Paris 2.0.

Apparently Dress Code Red is one of their most popular ones, and I can see why, it was very strong, but delicious and very refreshing! Phoebe’s was definitely the prettiest though!

After cocktails we wandered back through the stunning bar to Pierre Herme just round the corned, where we picked up a few macarons!

This outfit took a fair amount of confidence from me. I love jumpsuits but have always been too scared to buy/wear one because of my huge hips, but I saw it in the window on my way to work one morning and just had to try it on. I completely fell in love with the print and style, so knew I had to get it. It just made me realise that if I feel comfortable and happy wearing something, why shouldn’t I?! And if it makes my hips and thighs look big, who cares? I like them that way!

We had such a lovely afternoon at the Mandarin Oriental, and I’m now desperate to stay in one of their hotels! It was just so beautiful, and very much reminded me of the Shangri-La hotels, but with more feminine girly touches.

*We were guests of the Mandarin Oriental and we were very kindly treated to the cocktails.
