The restaurant itself is located in the upper section of the Piazza, where Raymond Blanc’s restaurant used to be. Sushisamba have turned it into a magical haven of calm, with an entry-bar full of hanging plants and flowers, and then three clear sections of the restaurant all flowing into one another. There’s also an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs prepare the sushi and sashimi!
We took a seat and started with a delicious and refreshing lychee mocktail before ordering a varied selection of delicious dishes. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning and such a tranquil setting above the bustling Covent Garden market.
Isn’t the design at SUSHISAMBA Covent Garden just glorious?! *heart eyes*
Moving onto the food, we had…
Yellowtail and Lobster Taquitos. This was my favourite of the whole lot! Zesty and fresh, the fish was divine and the dressing even more so. A must-order in my humble opinion.
And finally we finished with sharing the incredible Chocolate Banana Cake with maple butter and vanilla rum ice-cream. This was hands down my favourite dish after the Taquitos! It was SO moreish and tasted absolutely heavenly. Definitely one for those with an insane sweet tooth like me!
We really loved our lunch at the new SUSHISAMBA Covent Garden. It was an easy 4-minute walk from my office, and the design of the restaurant had me in a trance as I gazed around the restaurant all gooey-eyed and dutifully placed sushi roll after sushi roll into my mouth.
Sushisamba is definitely a splurge place for a special occasion though, as our meal came to £70 each (and that was sharing all the above dishes), but well worth it for our Christmas reunion! I won’t, however, be popping in for regular random lunches haha.
