The majority of my friends are in London, which means I’m always in and out of the city, and hardly anyone ever comes to visit me down in the leafy corners of Surrey. However recently the gang made an effort to come to
mine for a BBQ, and they’ve now promised to come to me more often! We had such a fantastic evening, it was really really lovely. As well as our burgers, sausages, and kebabs, we also made Mojitos.
I actually already had a Mojito kit at home which I got when I went to
Havana last year, but
thebar.com kindly sent me some extra bits and bobs, and we got to work in the kitchen. One thing I did learn – it’s really very difficult to take photos while making mojitos, especially when your friends are already drunk on prosecco from the journey down (well, they had to do something to occupy them on the one hour trip) and have no clue how to use a DSLR!
So my apologies for the lack of photos, here are the few gooduns I managed to get before the sun set!
We had two really massive mason jars, so we used the colourful straws and all just shared them. They were quite strong too! I put the DSLR away as drinks kept going flying, and we relied on my little GF5 instead for a few pics of the evening.
We laughed and chatted and ate and drank all evening, and then the gang had to head off to get the last train back to London. I love summers in Surrey!!
Head to
TheBar.com to check out their super easy cocktail recipes! Why not try making some with your friends next time you have a BBQ or gathering?

I love them so much!
It's such a shame that you didn't manage to take more photos…your Mojito is really photogenic haha <3

I know, really wish I'd taken more 🙁 haha! I think it's because the mojito matches the colours in the background! 😛
Love the drinks jars, very cool 🙂
Lots of love,

Sometimes you just can't beat a good ole kilner jar!
I love any excuse to throw a party, and this sounds like a perfect one!
Same! It was so nice to have people come to mine outside of London for once!
I love mojitos, and they look great served in jam jars like you have done, Catherine!

Same, they're definitely one of my favourite cocktails!
