This year has been a little tough (I know, it’s only February). So recently when I was in the throes of a never-ending cold, I needed cheering up and my best-guy-friend Edd – as always – was the man for the job. Thankfully we had dinner booked at the newly re-opened and refurbished
Seven Park Place, which proved to be the perfect antidote with its incredible food and beautiful dining space!
The new dining room is absolutely gorgeous, and provided a relaxed setting where we could chat about everything and anything. We began with a glass of
champagne each while we chose our starters and mains. I’m currently back on
Keto to try and shift the Christmas weight, and was actually really impressed that a lot of the options on the menu are low-carb and Keto friendly.
There were so many great choices on the menu I found it super hard to decide, but in the end I went for the delectable Poached Tail of
Dorset Blue Lobster, Cauliflower Puree, Lobster Butter Sauce with Perigord Truffle.
Edd opted for the Seared Hand Dived Scottish Scallops with Salsify Purée, Champagne Sauce and Oscietra Caviar. Although my lobster was incredible, I had a slight case of food envy – I adore scallops!
For mains I decided to keep going with the Keto-safe seafood theme and chose the Griddled South Coast Line Caught Fillet of Seabass, Braised Jerusalem Artichokes, Parsley Purée, Wild Mushrooms, Red Wine and Tarragon Jus. It’s Seven Park Place’s signature dish and it was mouthwateringly good.
Edd went for the Saddle of Lamb with Turnips, Onions and Thyme, and absolutely loved it!
We decided to share dessert because there wasn’t really anything Keto friendly (very, very few desserts are Keto friendly), so we had the Chocolate Hazelnut and Mandarin, and Edd had a glass of Mas Amiel to accompany it. I had a tiny half-spoonful of the dessert and it was absolutely heavenly. Edd took one for the team and polished off the entire plate while I continued to pour my croaky/bunged up heart out to him. We’ve been boy-girl best friends now for almost eight years and I would definitely be lost without him and his man advice (basically every bit of advice he gives me is just “Forget him, he doesn’t deserve you!” which is great but also slightly useless).
We tried to finish the cute little Petit Fours, but were just too full (the fudge was my favourite though – so sweet and soft and just perfect), so sadly had to leave some of them.
We had such a lovely meal at Seven Park Place, and from start to finish it was just perfect. It’s the ideal restaurant for a special occasion or if you just need to treat yourself, and its location near Green Park means it’s easy to get to from most places.
*Our meal was complimentary but all opinions are, as always, my own.
